WALRUS vintage metal gilded bookends MADE IN ITALY
This extremely rare, heavy, set of vintage bookends feature a gilded Walrus on top a large marble pedestal. Each bookend stands 6 1/4 high, 5 3/8" long, 4 3/8" deep and weighs 5 lbs. 11 oz. (11 lbs. 6 oz. for the pair). They are in very good condition. The walrus are metal with a gold gilding. The base metal could be brass. The finish is in fine condition. The Walrus are fine with no breaks, chips, cracks, or, repairs. There is a narrow one inch sliver chip out of the bottom of one bookend and another minor chip. There is a sticker on the bottom of one that reads: 'MADE IN ITALY'. We believe these are mid-century, circa 1960. Spectacular set.
