'DUTCH CHILDREN' antique ivorine face bookends JB HIRSCH CO.
This extremely rare set of antique bookends feature a young boy and girl dressed in Dutch outfits including wooden clogs. Both have the original ivorine faces. The girl is carrying a bouquet of flowers in a pink tone. Each bookend stands 6 1/4" tall, 3 3/4" wide, 3" deep and weighs 2 lbs. They are mounted on white alabaster backplate and bases with a single screw so their placement on the base could be adjusted. The boy and girl are in very good condition. The alabaster has some minor chips and bruising. This set was made by the JB Hirsch Company, NY. Circa 1930.
