Antique Bookend Shoppe

This extremely rare set of elephant bookends are beautifully detailed. The adult elephant is standing on an oval alabaster base with a baby elephant standing on the attached lower alabaster base. Each bookend stands 6 3/4" tall, 6" long, 4 5/8" deep and weighs 4 lbs. 9 oz. (9 lbs. 3oz. for the pair). They are in very good condition. The ivory tusks are intact with the proper striations. There is minor finish loss on the elephants. The alabaster is intact and solid with interior stress lines noticable. We believe these are European.
