'PIERROT PLAYS' antique french bronze ivory bookends EUROPEAN
Fabulous set of very rare European bookends featuring a Pierrot figure wistfully playing his mandolin while sitting on a log. This Pierrot has his head and hands both in celluloid which was used in lieu of ivory. The base is the original green onyx. Each bookend stands 6" tall, 4 1/2" wide, 3 3/4" deep and weighs 3 lbs. ( 6 lbs. for the pair). They are in very good condition. One onyx base has cut corners on the rear while the other is squared.
